Welcome to IQ Days Out
Before planning a school visit, schools need to think carefully about their pupils' needs and the benefits to be gained from the type of visit chosen, be it educational, recreational or vocational.
This country has a fantastic wealth of museums, historic houses, sports venues, science adventure centres, art galleries, theme parks, zoos and outdoor activity centres - all ready and waiting to educate and entertain!
The choice of potential venues grows year by year, and many offer excellent resources to enhance the experience for both children and teachers. These may include preparatory teacher visits, information packs and classroom materials.
The options now open to schools for foreign travel are vast. The excitement of going away with friends, and in many cases travelling for the first time without parents, is hard to beat.
For parents, these trips represent an excellent investment, as they are a wonderful opportunity for children to learn, as well as increase confidence, and – just as importantly – have a great time!
We hope you find some ideas to inspire both you and your pupils, and to make those school trips into events that you will all remember.
