Bullying, and other forms of abuse amongst children at school, is an unfortunate aspect of what should be a time of both physical and emotional growth. The bullying culture cannot be denied, so the Buddy Bench offers vulnerable individuals a ‘non vocal’ way of identifying themselves as needing assistance, and gives a point of focus for those trying to monitor the situation undetected.
Buddies can be supplied in any of our seating ranges, but whichever items are chosen, it is our belief that the furniture must be amusing as well as a pleasure to look at and use.
A playground can be totally transformed with the use of a few strategically placed items. These small changes can help to reshape the attitude of our children.
When David Ogilvie Engineering first started to produce novelty litter bins they were indeed different from most of the public’s perception of what a rubbish receptacle should look like.
Our belief was that if a litter bin was amusing, entertaining and a diversion from the expected, then children would think it fun to deposit their litter into it instead of dropping it on the ground.
Thankfully this has proven to be the case, and by educating our children from an early age to dispose of waste correctly, then as they progress into adult life this habit will hopefully continue.
As delighted feedback from customers all over the United Kingdom reached us on the success of the new bins, the decision was made to develop the range further.
David Ogilvie Engineering can offer an extensive range of fun litter bins, from rockets to clowns, from bugs to frogs etc. We are constantly developing new products.
So, back to our Buddy Bench. If we can teach tolerance and acceptance of individuals to our children at an early age, then we will have succeeded in our attempts to alleviate the bullying effects on the more vulnerable younger members of our society, who will hopefully go on to become responsible, caring adults
