New website offers ECM guidance

A new website has been launched to help schools and their partners meet the aims of the Every Child Matters agenda.

ECM Leadership Direct has been designed by the National College for School Leadership to help serving and aspiring heads to get to grips with the delivery of extended services via a wide range of case studies, tools and publications.

The NCSL says the site is based on "mind mapping" to reflect leaders’ different contexts and stages of development, enabling them to navigate through themes and topics as they require them.

The site will be updated every month and contains content designed for all leaders from the country's 23,000 schools and other staff working in multi-agency settings, statutory agencies or children's centres and community projects.

"This resource is going to help school leaders like myself as it is quick and easy to use and you don't have to go to lots of difference places for information,” said Kenny Frederick, headteacher of George Green's School in Tower Hamlets. “Being able to identify good practice and ideas all in one place should make a real difference."
